Home EnergyA Comprehensive Home Energy Assessment is like a doctor’s check-up for your home. It’s an opportunity to give your home a thorough examination to see if there are any areas that could be improved. It’s also provides a chance for homeowners to identify problems or discomfort they may be feeling. In this instance, ZERODRAFT is the home energy doctor and we are gladly accepting new customers to help.

In your home assessment, we go into great detail, providing room-by-room examinations. We also take a close look at your exterior structure and check your vitals; like your past utility bills, window seals and door seals.

In one test, we perform a blower door procedure. It’s the equivalent of taking your home’s “pressure.” A powerful fan mounts to the frame of an exterior door. The fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the pressure inside, and then we check the results. The higher the outside pressure, the more unsealed cracks and openings you have which often results in air loss and high energy bills.

We’ll also give your home an x-ray, also referred to as a thermographic scan. We use special cameras that use color and heat sensors to determine exactly where the heat loss is coming from. Then a plan of action can be determined.

Like any good doctor’s visit, ZERODRAFT will ask lots of questions to get to know you and your house better. We’ll ask questions like:

  • Do you experience condensation inside and feel comfortable?
  • What are the home’s yearly energy bills?
  • Is anyone home during working hours?
