The Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program provides grants to low-income homeowners for up to 50% of costs for energy efficient improvements.
As a subsidy program, you do not need to repay the financial support that you receive. It is a grant instead of a loan, that is given to eligible homeowners to assist them by paying for 50% of the proposed eligible measures up to a maximum award of $4,000. The customer is responsible for paying whatever balance remains on the project costs.
Single-family homeowners that meet the income eligibility guidelines generally qualify for grants of up to $4,000. An income-qualified owner that occupies a unit in a 2-4 unit building can receive a subsidy of up to $4,000 for the whole building without any income verification required for the tenants. A higher subsidy, up to a total of $7,000 per building, may be available if tenants also are income eligible.
We know that the financial process can feel overwhelming so our Zerodraft professionals are educated in helping you understand your options and navigate the application process. One great feature of this incentive is that The Assisted Home Performance Subsidy can be combined with the ENERGY STAR® Loan or the NY Smart Energy Loan Fund.
